Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, Florida seeks a PRN CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations, review patient history, and ensure safe contrast administration. The role emphasizes accurate imaging, patient education, and seamless coordination with radiologists and care teams.

Responsibilities include precise patient positioning, documentation in EMR/PACS, adherence to ALARA and infection control, and ongoing commitment to safety and quality in imaging services.

Qualifications

• A radiologic technology background with CT experience preferred.
• ARRT-CT certification preferred; BLS required.
• Florida RT cert (R.T.-CERT) required.
• CT experience on GE scanners is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality CT examinations per orders and protocols.
• Reviews patient history to confirm exam appropriateness.
• Administers IV contrast safely and monitors for reactions.
• Positions patients correctly while maintaining ALARA principles.

Job Description

Shift: PRN/ As Needed

Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications. Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions. Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages. Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents. Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams. Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

• Prior CT experience on GE CT scanners [Required]

Licenses And Certifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) [Preferred]


• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]


• Registered Technologist - Radiography (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) [Required]


• Florida Certified Radiologic Tech (R.T. -CERT) [Required]

Pay Range

$28.97 - $53.88
