Job summary

Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, TX seeks a CT Technologist II to perform advanced CT imaging, ensure high-quality diagnostic images, and support radiologists with protocol optimization and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate will prioritize patient safety, administer contrast per policy, monitor for reactions, maintain equipment quality through QC checks, and contribute to training and protocol improvements.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of clinical experience acquired through an accredited radiologic sciences program required.
• 3-5 years of experience as a CT Technologist in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required.
• CT - Computed Tomography certification issued by ARRT required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT imaging procedures with accuracy and efficiency, following established protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
• Prepares patients for CT exams, including screening for contraindications, obtaining accurate medical history, and providing clear instructions.
• Administers contrast media as ordered, following hospital policies and safety guidelines.
• Uses the I-Stat device to perform creatinine level testing and calculates GFR when required for contrast studies.
• Assists in interventional CT procedures, including biopsies and drain placements.
• Responds to emergency situations, including adverse reactions to contrast media, and follows hospital protocols.
• Performs quality control checks on CT equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures CT supplies are stocked.
