Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Springdale is seeking a CT Technologist for night shifts. Requires RTL & certification, 2 years CT Tech experience, and an associate degree or equivalent. Four 10-hour night shifts, benefits include a $10K sign-on bonus and student loan repayment.

Position is safety sensitive and requires radiology credentials with AR Health Dept RTL or ARRT CT certification. Bachelor’s degree preferred; pediatric experience valued.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Demonstrates knowledge to perform correct scan protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Adheres to radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding (ALARA).
  • Properly administers IV and oral contrast.
  • Explains exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Maintains work area in proper condition.
  • Keeps current with new CT technologies.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Complies with all regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Description
  1. Verifies exams as ordered by physician.

  2. Demonstrates the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.

  3. Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA

  4. Properly administers IV and oral contrast.

  6. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.

  7. Keeps current of new and evolving technologies in CT.

  8. Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.

  9. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
