Job summary

Jobtailor in The Woodlands, TX is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures from routine to complex, while providing direct patient care and mentoring junior staff.

You will assist physicians, ensure ALARA, and follow safety standards, with opportunities to participate in department initiatives and education for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
• Three years of experience as a CT Technologist.
• BLS or Instructor certification (AHA).
• CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist to Texas licensure.
• One of: ARRT-R, CNMT, ARRT-THR, ARRT-CT radiologic technologist licenses.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine to complex diagnostic CT procedures with attention to safety and quality.
• Provide direct patient care as part of the patient care team.
• Mentor CT Technologist I employees and students.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and special CT procedures with sterile technique.
• Ensure patient safety, ALARA principles, and equipment quality checks.
• Document procedures and enter charges accurately.
• Participate in department initiatives, governance, and ongoing development.

Job description

• Complete routine to complex diagnostic CT procedures, including common and special CT exams
• Provide direct patient care as a member of the patient care team
• Mentor and educate CT Technologist I employees and students
• Exercise sound judgment and advanced clinical skills during challenging procedures and patient-care situations
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and special CT procedures, including sterile technique
• Assess patient needs and adjust positioning, physiology, preparation, and technical factors to optimize care, image quality, and patient experience
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and family members
• Follow radiation safety, ALARA, sterile technique, aseptic technique, infection-control, and hospital safety standards
• Identify corrective-action and process-improvement opportunities and report near misses and errors
• Perform quality control checks and preventive maintenance on imaging equipment; report malfunctions
• Document patient procedures accurately and enter charges when services are delivered
• Manage time, prioritize tasks, and use resources efficiently
• Participate in special projects, department initiatives, shared governance, and ongoing development
• Foster teaching and learning opportunities for students and CT Technologist I employees

Requirements

• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s)
• Three years of experience as a CT Technologist
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association
• CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure - Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
• One of: ARRT-R Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer; CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist; ARRT-THR Radiologic Technologist - Radiation Therapy; ARRT-CT Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
• Ability to operate Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software
• Ability to work independently and handle challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations
• Skills and competencies demonstrated through ongoing assessments and performance evaluations
