Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in California is seeking a CT Technologist I to competently perform routine CT exams under supervision. The role includes patient education and adhering to Title 22, California licensing, and radiation control regulations.

They participate in quality improvement and may rotate to adjacent imaging locations or outpatient centers as needed. Qualified candidates hold an ARRT Radiologic Technology credential and a CA CRT license with a Fluoroscopy permit, plus

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or higher.
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • One year of CT experience is required but department may cross train for advancement within the organization.
  • Hospital based technologists must complete two (2) units of mandatory stroke specific training/education annually as required.
  • State of California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License & Fluoroscopy Permit.
  • AHA BLS Certification is required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiology & CT certifications are required.
  • If newly trained in CT, ARRT CT credential must be obtained within first 6 months in position.
  • Venipuncture Certification as required by State of California Health & Safety Code.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all routine CT exams in the department under supervision as directed by the technical supervisor and medical director.
  • Educate patient/family about CT exams and provide instructions.
  • Maintain professionalism and participate in the department's quality improvement processes.
  • Respond to call responsibilities and rotations as required by hospital or outpatient imaging centers.

All CT Technologists project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct and support the Radiology Department mission. They participate in the continuous quality improvement process while maintaining a working knowledge and following all departmental and organizational policies and procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation and quality control requirements, as well as specific regulatory requirements of Title 22, California Licensing & Certification of Health Facilities and Title 17, California Radiation Control Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned that do not violate laws or regulations that require personnel with special licensure.
