Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT equipment, position patients, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images per protocol.

The role requires strong attention to safety, good communication, and collaboration with radiologists and the healthcare team to ensure timely, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include contrast administration,quality control, and support for interventional CT procedures.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of clinical experience acquired through an accredited radiologic sciences program required.
  • 2-4 years of CT Technologist experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CT equipment and processing systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images while following protocols.
  • Prepares and positions patients for CT procedures with appropriate immobilization.
  • Verifies patient identification and physician orders, screens for contraindications.
  • Performs point-of-care creatinine testing and calculates GFR when required for contrast studies.
  • Administers contrast media per orders and monitors for adverse reactions.
  • Explains procedures to patients and provides instructions during and after exams.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team to ensure timely, patient-centered care.
  • Assists with interventional CT procedures and sterile field setup.
  • Reviews images for technical quality and communicates findings to the team.
  • Maintains clinical history documentation and correlates with imaging studies.
  • Performs routine quality control on CT equipment and reports malfunctions.
  • Responds to emergencies and contrast reactions per facility protocols.
  • Maintains clean, stocked work area and adheres to safety guidelines.
