Job summary

Wellstar Medical Group’s New Mobile CT Unit in Augusta, GA seeks a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging and exceptional patient care. You will perform CT procedures, ensure safety, and support a collaborative care team in a fast-paced mobile setting.

Required ARRT certifications, radiologic technology training, and at least 1 year of radiology experience. Benefits include a comprehensive program and opportunities for career growth within Wellstar.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT (Radiography) and ARRT CT certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Safely operate imaging/radiographic equipment and minimize patient dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Verify orders, obtain clinical history, and use two unique patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients using AIDET; address questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Administer contrast per protocol and maintain sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and release patients appropriately.
• Document timely in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflow to meet timeframes and support department flow.
• Support operations, keep areas orderly, and follow regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology Required

Certifications

• ARRTR (Radiography)
• ARRTCT – ARRT Computed Tomography
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjustingtechniquestomaintaindiagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, andmaintainrooms/equipment per infection control schedules;identifyand report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, andpostcareclearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provideageappropriatecare throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization asindicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Completeaccuratetimelydocumentation and ensure studies are correctlyfinalizedin RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and helpmaintain/restock crash cart andlifesupportequipment asrequired
• Organize dailyworkflowsto meet expectedtimeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevateissues to the supervisor.
