Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA. You will provide radiographic CT care for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, adhering to LG protocols and procedures.

Qualified candidates will have AMA-approved radiology training, ARRT or NMTCB CT credentials, CPR, and CT credentials within 18 months of hire; two years of advanced imaging experience preferred. CT training is provided for new graduates and experienced technologists.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.
• Active ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, or Radiation Therapy; or NMTCB certification.
• CT credentials from ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months from date of hire.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine diagnostic CT procedures with proper patient positioning and technique.
• Receives requests and checks for special instructions, consulting with Radiologists as needed.
• Greets patients, confirms identifications, and explains procedures to patients and families.
• Operates hospital computer systems and documents patient history in the EMR.
• Completes examinations, consultations, and billing procedures as required.
• Utilizes computer equipment including EHR, email and intranet.

LOCATION: Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA

SIGN-ON BONUS : Eligible internal and external candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00, based on weekly hours worked, with a two-year commitment.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

Full time (40 hours/week), night shift

• Every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation
• Up to 6 weeks of on-call per year
• Two full on-call weekends per year
• Every 3rd holiday per year

Full-time (36 hours/week), night shift

• Hours are from 11:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
• Every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation
• Up to 6 weeks of on-call per year
• Two full on-call weekends per year
• Every 3rd holiday per year

Full-time (36 hours/week), weekends, night shift

• Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Hours are from 3:00 p.m.-3:00 a.m.
• Holidays worked only when they coincide with scheduled 3 workdays

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for providing radiographic care for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic CT procedures through proper patient positioning and technique selection, in accordance with established LG protocols, policies and procedures.
• Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with Radiologists as necessary.
• Greets patients--confirming their identifications performing the correct procedures as directed and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed.
• Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the electronic medical record. Documents other information as required.
• Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.
• Accurately and appropriately utilizes all computer related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email and the intranet.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.
• Active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, or Radiation Therapy; or active certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or in Computed Tomography.
• CT credentials from either ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months from date of hire.
• CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two (2) years of advanced imaging experience.
