Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Lancaster General Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to provide radiographic CT care for diagnostic purposes. You will position patients, operate CT equipment, verify requests, and document in the EMR according to LG protocols.

Collaboration with Radiologists and other clinicians is expected. Minimum qualifications include AMA-approved radiologic technology schooling and ARRT or NMTCB certification, with CT credentials within 18 months of hire; CPR within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.
  • ARRT in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, or Radiation Therapy; or NMTCB certification as Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or in Computed Tomography.
  • CT credentials from ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months from date of hire.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with Radiologists as necessary.
  • Greets patients—confirming identifications, performing the correct procedures as directed and explaining the procedure to patient and family.
  • Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the EMR.
  • Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.
  • Accurately and appropriately utilizes all computer related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email and the intranet.

LOCATION:

Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA

SIGN-ON BONUS

Eligible internal and external candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00, based on weekly hours worked, with a two-year commitment.

  • Increased, competitive pay rates

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Full-time (40 hours/week), night shift
  • Hours are from 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
  • Every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation
  • Up to 6 weeks of on call per year
  • Every 3rd holiday per year

POSITION SUMMARY

The Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for providing radiographic care for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic CT procedures through proper patient positioning and technique selection, in accordance with established LG protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with Radiologists as necessary.
  • Greets patients--confirming their identifications performing the correct procedures as directed and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed.
  • Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the electronic medical record. Documents other information as required.
  • Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.
  • Accurately and appropriately utilizes all computer related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email and the intranet.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.
  • Active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, or Radiation Therapy; or active certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or in Computed Tomography.
  • CT credentials from either ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months from date of hire.
  • CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two (2) years of advanced imaging experience.
