Job description

Overview

We are seeking a CT Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols. This role acts as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students. This job is a summary of primary duties and responsibilities and is subject to change at the company’s discretion.

Responsibilities
  • Verify physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care.
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol (including placement of IV).
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
  • Assist in facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, introduction to the patient, explaining services or procedures, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: Required – Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certifications: Required – Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified OR ARRt registry eligible, registered by ARRT within 90 days of employment, and temporary state license required. CT registry eligible within one year. Advanced certification in CT required within one year of becoming CT registry eligible. Current unrestricted license in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – Advanced certification in CT required by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
  • Work Experience: Preferred – CT experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
    • Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of information.
    • Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly and professionally.
    • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and role-specific software; strong keyboard skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language; ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure; ability to work self-directed without direct supervision.
    • Flexibility in work duties and hours (nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, etc.).
    • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and hemodynamics related to disease states.
    • Ability to preliminarily identify stenosis or occlusion based on nationally published criteria.
    • Ability to assist attending physicians with interventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance.
Job Duties
