Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for a CT Tech to join our team at the Fort Worth Cancer Center (Fort Worth Texas). The position will be either Level 1, 2 or Sr based on relevant candidate experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer all CT/MRI radiologic exams; ensure technical quality and timely reporting of results.
- Assure compliance with regulatory agencies related to patient and employee safety.
- Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Perform CT procedures as ordered, achieving a high level of quality.
- Offer expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional or modified studies.
- Escort patients to the treatment room and assist with dressings as necessary; complete all paperwork to ensure timely delivery of CT services.
- Develop and process radiologic films; log procedures completed; process routine paperwork.
- Provide protection for patients and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Ensure the safety and physical comfort of patients while in technologist's care.
- Conduct daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance; report all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the appropriate company or facility.
- Arrange preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor; follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
- Order, log, and return outside films requested from other agencies; complete appropriate documentation.
- Arrange release of films to patients and outside agencies.
- Maintain paperwork for tracking loaned films; maintain confidentiality of all patient and staff information.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
- Minimum three years experience as a CT Technologist; ARRT certification required.
- Current IV and CPR certifications required.
- Certification in CT preferred.
Level Requirements
- Level 1 – Meets the qualifications above.
- Level 2 – Minimum five years experience as a CT Technologist.
- Level Sr – Minimum seven years experience as a CT Technologist.
Physical Demands
- Require full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
- Lifts and carries items up to 50 lbs; lifts and pushes patients in wheelchairs or stretchers weighing up to 300 lbs.
- Requires reaching above shoulder height; requires sitting or standing for extensive periods; requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Work Environment
Regular exposure to patients, with potential exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
