Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Full-Time CT Technologist for the day shift to support diagnostic imaging at our new Freestanding Emergency Department. You will perform advanced CT imaging under Radiologist direction and collaborate with ED physicians to ensure timely, high-quality care for both pediatric and adult patients.

The role requires proficiency in general radiography, strong safety practices, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Qualifications

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED and an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered with the ARRT as a Registered Technologist; BLS certification required.
  • ARRT-CT certification within six months of hire, if applicable; maintain ARRT or NMTCB certification with CE credits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging procedures per radiologist direction.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for rapid interpretation in ED.
  • Perform general radiography (X-ray) as needed for ED imaging.
  • Provide imaging services for pediatric and adult patients in a fast-paced ED.

  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, radiologists, and care teams to ensure efficient patient flow.

Job Summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Full-Time CT Technologist for day shift to support diagnostic imaging services at our new Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED). This role is ideal for imaging professionals who thrive in a fast-paced emergency care environment and are committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging while supporting timely patient care.

The CT Technologist performs advanced computed tomography imaging procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, producing high-quality diagnostic images that support rapid and accurate clinical decision-making. Working closely with emergency physicians, radiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams, the technologist plays a critical role in supporting efficient emergency department operations while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.

In this role, the CT Technologist performs imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards, utilizing CT imaging equipment and associated technologies to obtain diagnostic images across multiple anatomical planes. The technologist must also be proficient in general radiography (X-ray) and comfortable performing imaging studies for pediatric and adult patient populations within an emergency care environment. Strong technical expertise, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly in a high-acuity setting are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT imaging procedures in accordance with established imaging protocols and radiologist direction

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images to support rapid and accurate clinical interpretation in an emergency care setting

  • Perform general radiography (X-ray) procedures as needed to support emergency department imaging needs

  • Provide imaging services for pediatric and adult patient populations

  • Monitor and support patient safety, comfort, and care throughout imaging procedures

  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, radiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated patient care

  • Maintain efficient patient flow and imaging throughput within the emergency department environment

  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards

  • Maintain compliance with licensure, certification, and continuing education requirements

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Associate's Degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • ARRT-CT certification within six (6) months of hire, if applicable

  • Must remain in good standing with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) by maintaining required continuing education credits and completing annual license renewal

  • Demonstrated proficiency in general radiography (X-ray)

ARRT-CT Eligibility Pathways (Applicants May Be)
  • Enrolled in an approved ARRT institution with an accredited Computed Tomography (CT) program

  • A recent graduate of an approved ARRT institution with an accredited CT program and eligible for ARRT-CT certification

  • An experienced Registered Technologist eligible for ARRT-CT certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Preferred Qualifications
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

  • Prior experience in an emergency department or high-acuity imaging environment

  • Experience performing imaging procedures for pedriatric patients
