Job summary

Baystate Medical Center is seeking a CT Technologist to operate multi-slice CT equipment, acquiring high-quality images per radiologist specifications. You will support patient care from pediatric to geriatric, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with the radiology team.

The role requires an AMA-approved radiologic technology program and at least 1 year of CT experience in an acute care setting. Knowledge of RIS/Synapse/Radnet is preferred; ALARA and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Formal radiologic technology program (AMA approved)
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Minimum 12 points from Imaging Career Ladder policy (yearly updates)

Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams per protocol on various body parts in a timely manner.
• Identify patient information using two identifiers and follow safety standards.
• Input data into RIS, Synapse, Radnet and verify timely transfer to PACS.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Start IVs and administer contrast media with power injector.
• Perform quality checks on CT equipment and expedite service or repairs as needed.
• Assist radiologist in biopsies, ablations and specialized exams.
• Adhere to ALARA principles and regulatory hospital policies.
