Qualifications

• Must have a radiology-related degree or certificate.
• Nuclear medicine qualifications as listed (CNMT) and ARRT certifications required/desired.
• Active state license to practice radiology or nuclear medicine in Indiana.
• BLS from American Heart Association.
• ARRT certification including CT credential.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnosis.
• Train students and technologists as needed.
• Perform injection procedures and manage contrast media.
• Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Maintain safety and ALARA principles during imaging procedures.

Among the Franciscan team, the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for operating specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy. This aids radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. This position assists in training students and technologists, and performs injection procedures.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms.
• Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
• Obtain the most optimal images for physician interpretation while processing and evaluating images according to policy and protocol.
• Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results. Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media.
• Practice established safety guidelines, and utilize ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques.
