Job Summary

The CT Technologist I performs procedures per departmental protocols, operating CT scanners and related equipment proficiently, including contrast injectors, patient monitoring, and transport.

Essential Functions

• Verify orders, refer discrepancies to Radiologist.
• Identify and prepare patients, explain procedures, document accordingly.
• Gather medical history, review EMRs, and record clinical data.
• Manage exams from start to finish.
• Administer IV contrast as per protocols, record details.
• Evaluate image quality, consult Radiologists, recognize abnormal anatomy.
• Assist with patient care, emergency procedures, and invasive exams.
• Handle medications and contrast materials responsibly.
• Follow radiation safety standards and report equipment issues.
• Maintain safety, attend training, and ensure timely work in emergencies.
• Operate radiology systems, document procedures, and keep work areas clean.
• Support other medical personnel during exams.

Physical Requirements

Moderate to heavy lifting, standing, walking, bending, and exposure to physical conditions and radiation safety practices.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine program. ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine, with ARRT CT registry within one year, and current CPR certification.
