Qualifications

• Current Licensure as Radiologic Technologist in the State of California.
• One year recent experience in an acute care facility.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Fluoroscopy license/certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (LA City Employees only).

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of CT/diagnostic radiologic procedures ensuring optimal imaging.
• Ensures identity of patient using appropriate patient identifiers per hospital policy and physician order.
• Assists with the care of the patient within scope of licensure.
• Determines patient needs based on age-specific criteria.
• Positions patients to ensure accurate testing considering age.
• Coordinates patient requirements during procedures and transport, maintains sterile environment and PPE.
• Applies ALARA radiation safety practices and provides shielding.
• Ensures Infection Control procedures and HIPAA compliance.
• Demonstrates empathy and professional care for diverse patients.
• Engages in caring behaviors and communicates with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.
• Performs ancillary tasks such as documentation, supplies, environmental rounds, and department records.
• Monitors procedures/equipment and makes adjustments for optimal results.
• Reports malfunctions to leadership promptly.
• Ensures images are processed, archived, and accurately recorded in medical records and billing.
