Job Description:

The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position uses ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgement to perform high quality scans.

Position Details

  1. Department Location: American Fork Hospital
  2. Sign-on bonus: up to $5000.00 for eligible applicants.
  3. NIGHT sign-on bonus: up to $2500 for eligible applicants
  4. Scheduled Weekly Hours: Full-time, 35 hours.
  5. Shift: Nights, 7 on 7 off

  7. Tech will be performing CT and X-ray within the Department.

Job Essentials

  1. Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  2. Performs exams per department protocol.
  3. Understands cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency.
  4. Familiar with the ALARA program and follows proper radiation safety protocol.
  5. Demonstrates ability to critique own films.
  6. Completes studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
  7. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration.
  8. As ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision administers oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients.
  9. Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  10. Provides appropriate patient education and ensures patient comfort.
  11. Understands and operates CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced.
  12. Exhibits working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
  13. Exhibits understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging. Incumbents will be able to view, transfer and manipulate images.
  14. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
  15. Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, and charging, obtaining consents if necessary, documenting any events that may occur for quality, maintaining a current QC program for ACR and reporting any equipment failures or problems.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Radiography Certification/Registration (ARRT)
  2. Relevant State licensure (where required)
  3. Demonstrated CT proficiency.
  4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (healthcare)

Preferred Qualifications

  1. CT Certification/Registration (ARRT)
  2. 1+ year(s) CT experience

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
