Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL, is seeking a Full-time CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations, prepare and administer IV contrast, and ensure patient safety and comfort. The role requires strong knowledge of CT protocols, PACS, and radiation safety, with collaboration across radiology staff.

Responsibilities include patient education, accurate EMR/PACS documentation, and adherence to ALARA principles while delivering compassionate care to diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered radiologic technologist with CT training.
  • Proficiency in CT procedures and PACS.
  • Experience reading/analyzing CT images and patient history.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality CT examinations per orders and protocols.
  • Educate patients on the exam and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Operate imaging equipment safely and accurately.
  • Prepare and administer IV contrast when required and monitor for reactions.
  • Review patient history to confirm exam appropriateness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers.
  • Follow safety, infection control, and departmental policies.

Job Description

$10,000 Sign on bonus available for eligible applicants

  • Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
  • Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
  • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]
