Job summary

AdventHealth in Highlands Ranch, CO is seeking a part-time CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT scans and ensure patient safety. The role requires ARRT certification, BLS, and strong teamwork within a fast-paced imaging unit.

The ideal candidate will have CT experience, proficient PACS/EMR skills, and the ability to educate patients about procedures while maintaining precise documentation and infection control standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
  • BLS CPR certification required.
  • 1+ year radiology/CT experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow radiation safety concepts and ALARA.
  • Strong patient communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectants.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains documentation within the EMR and PACS systems.
  • Educates patients about the exam and completes all exams promptly.
  • Operates imaging equipment safely, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
  • Performs high-quality CT examinations per orders and protocols.
  • Reviews patient history to confirm exam appropriateness and contraindications.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material with safety and monitors for adverse reactions.
  • Positions patients accurately while maintaining radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • Collaborates with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description
  • Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
  • Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
  • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
