Job summary

Akumin is hiring a CT Technologist for a Weston, FL facility. The role focuses on patient safety, high-quality CT studies, and effective communication with radiologists and staff.

Responsibilities include pre-screening for contraindications, contrast administration, and training junior staff. Candidates should have ARRT CT certification (or NMTCB CT in lieu of ARRT), state licensing if required, CPR, and a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include ARRT CT certification or NMTCB CT acceptable in lieu of ARRT, state license if applicable.
• CPR certification and COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality CT images and ensure patient safety.
• Pre-screen for radiation contraindications and manage contrast injections.
• Coordinate with radiologists and train new technologists when needed.
• Troubleshoot CT scanner and peripheral equipment and maintain documentation.

This will be a full time position.The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.Produces high quality diagnostic images.Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.Trains new technologist and/or PC's.Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable inlieu of ARRT registry.State license.Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.CPR certification.Technologists performing mid-day moves.Active State Driver’s License.Strong customer service skills.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.Basic knowledge of computer applications and programsThe COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.At Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
