You will prepare and position patients, operate CT scanners, adhere to ALARA radiation safety principles, and collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and students to ensure accurate imaging and safe patient care.

CT Scan Technician to perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging for diagnostic and interventional procedures in a community teaching hospital.

Key Duties

• Prepare and position patients for accurate CT image acquisition.
• Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment, producing diagnostically useful images.
• Follow physician protocols and adhere to ALARA radiation safety principles.
• Verify patient identification and obtain relevant patient history.
• Start IVs for contrast administration when required.
• Monitor patients during contrast use and respond to or escalation concerns and possible reactions.
• Document and transfer images accurately in PACS.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members; mentor students.
• Support continuous improvement in quality, safety, and workflow.

Qualifications

• Training and competency to operate CT imaging systems.
• Strong patient care, positioning, and radiation safety knowledge.
• Ability to follow clinical protocols and ensure correct imaging documentation.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfort with IV initiation for contrast when applicable.
