Job summary

Akicita Federal is seeking a CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. You will ensure accurate patient identification, implement safety protocols, and document results in RPMS/EHR/PACS.

Experience with Canon Aquilion or similar scanners and contrast-injection systems is preferred, with readiness to work across three shifts in a 24/7 imaging department.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a CT scanner in a hospital or medical center.
• Familiarity with contrast-injection systems, especially Bayer Medrad Flex Injector.
• Experience in federal healthcare environments (IHS/VA/DoD) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform CT examinations on the specified scanner.
• Verify patient identity, review orders, and position patients safely.
• Apply Image Gently/Image Wisely safety practices.
• Review images for technical quality before completing exams.
• Perform plain-film or digital radiography as needed.
• Document all services using PIMC information systems (RPMS, EHR, PACS).

Job description

Akicita Federal is hiring a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for the Indian Health Service at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will perform CT examinations that directly support diagnosis and care for patients from multiple Native American communities. • Independently perform CT examinations on a Canon Aquilion Prime SP2000 160-slice scanner using the Bayer Medrad Flex Injector for contrast administration.
• Verify patient identity, review examination orders, and prepare and position patients safely prior to each scan.
• Apply patient-safety and radiation-safety practices consistent with Image Gently and Image Wisely standards.
• Review acquired images for appropriate technical quality before completing each examination.
• Perform plain-film or digital radiography examinations as required within the scope of services.
• Document all services accurately and on the date of service using PIMC information systems including RPMS, EHR, and PACS.
• Comply with PIMC infection-control, privacy, and patient-care policies and promptly report any patient-safety incidents per facility procedures.
