Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform CT and diagnostic imaging procedures with a focus on patient care and safety. The role requires competency with multi-slice CT scanners and adherence to ALARA guidelines.

Responsibilities include informing patients about procedures, prioritizing patient flow, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality imaging and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Formal radiologic technology training with AMA-approved program.
• ARRT registration or eligibility required.
• Connecticut state radiologic license or eligibility to obtain.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients while undergoing CT and diagnostic imaging exams.
• Informs and provides patients with full details and expectations of their procedure.
• Maintains knowledge and competency to perform diagnostic exams on multi-slice CT scanners for all patient populations.
• Facilitates patient flow including prioritizing inpatients, ER patients and urgent outpatients.
• Produces diagnostic quality radiographs using proper technical factors and patient positioning.
• Completes all paperwork and patient documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicates effectively with team members and other departments to maximize patient care.
• Operates all equipment safely according to manufacturer specifications and ALARA guidelines.
• Follows procedures on safe patient interactions and body mechanics.
• Meets performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self development.
• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School Degree Or G.E.D. Required. Must Have Satisfactorily Completed A Formal Radiologic Technology Training Program In An A.M.A. Approved School And Meets Requirements For Registry By The Arrt.

EXPERIENCE

One (1) To Two (2) Years Experience In Ct Department Preferred. Previous Radiographic Experience Required.

LICENSURE

Must Hold A Current Connecticut State License In Radiologic Technology Or Obtain Licensure As Soon As They Become Registered. Arrt Rt And Ct Required. BLS Required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Cross Training Program Applicants Will Have 12 Months To Acquire The Advanced Ct Certification After Completion Of All Competencies Deemed Necessary For The Program.
