Job Description

Perform CT scan studies of anatomical areas as ordered/directed, following established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist, prepare, and position patients for imaging procedures.
• Perform CT scans and other diagnostic exams.
• Use technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies per protocols and patient needs.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures, including instructions and area to be imaged.
• Obtain venous access as needed.
• Operate all radiographic imaging equipment, including injectors.
• Load and program contrast media injectors according to departmental procedures.
• Prepare and operate equipment, set controls, and establish protocols under radiologist guidance.
• Coordinate scan protocols with radiologists.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure.
• Assist with QA/QC programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support ACR accreditation efforts.
• Label images correctly as per SOP.
• Assist physicians as required.
• Evaluate images for quality and transmit to PACS promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment.
• Ensure supplies are stocked and equipment is functional.
• Record patient tracking information accurately in EPIC Radiant.
• Schedule exams in EPIC Radiant and ensure timely completion.
• Perform clerical duties in support of imaging operations.
• Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Follow infection control policies to prevent spread of infection.
• Attend training and professional development sessions.
• Maintain licensure and continuing education credits as required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 2 years of progressive CT experience (considering new graduates with relevant knowledge).
• Licensed by the State of New York, ARRT certification, and CT/IV certification.
• Current CPR certification.
