Qualifications

• Associate Degree Required
• Current BLS is required
• Certified CT Technologist NM Computed Tomography License (NMCT)
• ARRT CT Certification (ARRT(CT)) or CT Technologist in Training/Provisional Status (NMPCT)
• ARRT certification (ARRT (R))
• Must obtain ARRT(CT) and NMCT licensure within 2 years of obtaining the NMPCT
• New Mexico provisional CT license requirements as applicable

Responsibilities

• Utilizes clinical reasoning with a global grasp of situations and evidence-based guidelines to manage CT imaging.
• Escalates concerns to the appropriate leader and coordinates with the patient and family as needed.
• Educates patients before scanning and answers questions about the procedure.
• Works with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient exam flow and resource utilization.
• Performs safety checks, validates exam reasons with the patient, and ensures right patient/right exam/right order.
• Follows established safety/calibration/quality procedures and reports issues as required.
• Performs other clinic duties as assigned.
