Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln in Mattoon, IL is seeking a PRN CT Technologist to produce diagnostic CT images and adjust techniques for optimal quality. You will work in the CT Scanning department, with responsibilities including IV contrast administration and radiation dose documentation.

Required: Associate’s Degree, ARRT CT and Radiography within 1 year, BLS within 90 days. Starting pay $32.10/hour; compensation ranges with experience. PRN schedule, not health benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

• Accurate image identification.
• Ensures high-quality images.

• Documents radiation dose and contrast use in charts.
• Keeps up-to-date with Creatinine & GFR for contrast planning.
• Uses PACS/HIS to archive patient data.
• Maintains radiation safety practices for minimal dose.

Job Description

CT Technologist is responsible for the production of diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist; the employee should have knowledge regarding the utilization of equipment and be able to make adjustments in technique and patient positioning to provide images of excellent quality.

Department: CT Scanning

Hours: PRN (As Needed) *This position is not health benefit eligible

Required: AS Degree, IMEA, ARRT (R) and (CT) within in 1 year of hire, BLS within 90 days of hire.

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $32.10

Responsibilities

• Accurate image identification


• Assures accuracy and high quality images


• Completes continuing education on CT specific safety annually


• Obtains proper consent for procedures


• Performs CT exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling a variety of complex electronic equipment


• Performs intravenous injection of contrast media products under the guidance of the Radiologist


• Provides proper documentation in patient chart of radiation dose and contrast use


• Remains current regarding knowledge of Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast. Understands criteria, normal vs. elevated levels, protocols to follow for abnormal levels, and consults w/ physician or nurse as appropriate


• Utilizes PACS and HIS system to archive and record patient data


• Utilizes proper radiation safety techniques to scan patients and provide excellent quality at minimal dose
