Job summary

Join TriStar Skyline Medical Center as a CT Technologist at the East Nashville freestanding ER. You will perform CT and X-ray imaging, maintain image quality, and ensure patient safety in a fast-paced emergency setting.

You will collaborate with radiologists and clinicians, manage contrast administration, and participate in continuous education to enhance patient care. This PRN opportunity offers exposure to a high-volume trauma and stroke center environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible; CT certification option preferred.
• 1 year post-graduate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate Computed Tomography (CT) and X-ray procedures per physician orders.
• Maintain accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
• Uphold radiation protection and safety standards.
• Assist the radiologist in complex CT examinations and biopsies.
• Prepare and administer contrast media per regulations.
• Act as liaison between patients and department physicians and staff.
• Demonstrate patient communication, assessment, monitoring and care.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and support departmental mission.
• Collaborate with team within and across departments to ensure quality care.
• Engage in continuing education to advance patient care and knowledge.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The X‑Ray/CT Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures ordered by the physician. The X‑Ray/CT Technologists are responsible for day‑to‑day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic environment.

What you will do in this role:

• The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
• The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
• He/she must maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.
• They prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate computed tomography examinations, including a range of tissue biopsies and fluid drainages.
• They prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with state, federal and hospital regulations.
• Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are the primary liaison between patients and departmental physicians and other members of the support team.
• They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills.
• They maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure that patient’s rights are protected.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships both inter‑and intra‑departmentally; to foster good customer relations and to observe the Skyline Medical Center mission statement.
• Ability to be knowledgeable and compliant with the policies, procedures, and regulations relating to the Department of Medical Imaging.
• Ability to use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.
• Quality improvement and customer service allow the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to be a responsible member of the health care team by continually assessing professional performance.
• The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist participates in continuing education for optimal patient care, public education and enhanced knowledge and technical competence.
• Work/shift assignment is dependent on coverage needs and may be scheduled at any Skyline location.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduation from an accredited education program in Radiologic technology.
• ARRT R.T. (R) (denotes successful completion of the ARRT certification examination) (or registry eligible) or ARRT R.T. (R)(CT) (denotes successful completion of the computed tomography advanced-level examination)
• 1 year post‑graduate experience – preferred
• CT registration with ARRT within 12 months of hire or cross‑training – preferred
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
