Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a PRN CT/MRI Tech for The Woodlands location. Under general supervision, you will coordinate and perform CT and MRI exams, ensuring image quality and patient safety. The role supports regulatory compliance and quality standards across patient care processes.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT certification, has CT/MRI experience, and current IV/CPR credentials. Levels will be assigned from 1 to Sr based on experience, with opportunities for advancement within a leading oncology

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • Minimum three years experience as CT/MRI Technologist.
  • ARRT registered radiologic technologist required.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.
  • CT and MRI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT and MRI procedures with high-quality imaging.
  • Advises physicians on the appropriateness of studies.
  • Escorts patients and assists with dressings and paperwork.
  • Develops, processes, and logs radiologic films.
  • Maintains safety and monitors machine performance daily.
  • Releases films to patients and outside agencies.

Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN CT/MRI Tech to join our team! This position will support the The Woodlands location. This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on relevant candidate experience.

Responsibilities

What does the CT MRI Tech do?

Under general supervision, is responsible for the coordination and administration of all CT/MRI radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely reporting of results. Assures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies related to patient and employee safety. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


The Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Performs CT and MRI procedures as ordered achieving a high level of quality.

  • Offers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional/modified studies, etc.

  • Escorts patients to treatment room. Assists with dressings as necessary. Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of CT/MRI services.

  • Develops and processes radiologic films. Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes routine paperwork.

  • Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

  • Ensures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologists care.

  • Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance. Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility.

  • Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.

  • Orders, logs, and returns outside films requested from other agencies; completes appropriate documentation.

  • Arranges for the release of films to patients and outside agencies.

  • Maintains paperwork for tracking loaned films. Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the CT MRI Tech position will have the following background and experience:


Level 1


  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.

  • Minimum three years experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.

  • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.

  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.

  • Certification in CT and MRI preferred.


Level 2 (in Addition To Level 1 Requirements)


  • Minimum five years experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.


Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements)


  • Minimum seven years experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.

Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifts and pushes patients in wheelchairs/stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds and places in appropriate positions for operation of equipment. Requires ability to reach above shoulder height. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
