Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
  • ARRT Certification (R) in Radiology. ARRT Certification (C) in Computed Tomography preferred.
  • 2 years CT experience preferred or equivalent radiography experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Computed Tomography exams and ensure the correct exam is conducted.
  • Verify orders with the radiologist when needed and review patient orders.
  • Screen patients for IV contrast contraindications and discuss concerns with care teams.
  • Interact with hospital staff regarding patient care and resolve issues as needed.
  • Maintain performance skills and be available for weekends, evenings, nights, overtime, or on-call as required.

Job description

Responsibilities

Position summary: Performs all Computed Tomography exams; conducts quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer; evaluates orders, verifies them with the radiologist when needed, and ensures the correct exam is performed. Properly screens patients to identify contraindications for oral or IV contrast. Interacts with hospital staff and nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts, and assists in resolutions. Maintains performance skills. The role routinely requires working weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on-call/call-back status when needed.

Qualifications
  1. Must have current BCLS certification.
  2. 2 years of prior Computed Tomography and/or Radiographer experience (preferred).
  3. Membership in related professional organization (preferred).
  4. Commitment to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; comply with all policies and procedures, attend required training, and report suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
Education / Licensure
  1. Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
  2. Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
  3. ARRT Certification (R) in Radiology. Technologists exempted from ARRT certification must meet Public Law 97-35 requirements.
  4. ARRT Certification (C) in Computed Tomography (preferred).
