Overnights, weekends, holidays, on call and callback per unit needs.
Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
- Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
- Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
- Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position).
- Two (2) Years' Experience.
- Level 1 Trauma Center Experience.
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY).
Preferred
- Injection certification preferred - must be willing to complete during orientation process.
- Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.

Skills
- Level I Trauma Experience: Required, 2 Years.
- CT Tech License (NY ONLY): Required.
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY): Required.
- Two (2) years experience: Required, 2 Years.
- Siemens Scanner Experience: Required, 6 Months.
- Epic Experience: Highly desired, 1 Year.
