Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT scans under the supervision of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging. You will collect clinical data, prepare patients, assist radiologists, and ensure high-quality imaging and safety. Must hold ARRT Radiology cert, MA RTR license, and BLS; maintain CEUs.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology required; RTR licensure in MA required.
• Must take the initial ARRT CT exam within 6 months of competencies.
• Must pass ARRT CT certification exam within 12 months.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations appropriate to patient age in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Gather clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
• Complete records, paperwork and billing promptly.
• Position and transfer patients; assist with interventional exams.
• QC images and send to PACS for physician review.

Hiring Range: $32.76 - $58.96

Schedule Details: Friday, Holidays - Every Third Holiday, Thursday, Wednesday, Weekends - Every Fourth Weekend

Scheduled Hours: 7am-7:30pm

Under general supervision of the Director or Diagnostic Imaging, this position is responsible for scanning and producing a variety of computerized tomography examinations for physician interpretation and diagnosis of injury and/or disease for all patient ages. Assists the Radiologist with all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines set forth by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. Performs related clerical and service duties and assists with other departments as needed.

Major Responsibilities

• 1. Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
• 2. Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
• 3. Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly.
• 4. Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
• 5. Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and appropriately sends exams to PACS for the physicians to review.

II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required:

• 1. ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine Required. RTR licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required
• 2. Must take the initial exam for the ARRT certification in CT Scan within 6 months of the completion of the required competencies.
• 3. Exam delays will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
• 4. Must pass the ARRT CT certification exam within 12 months.
• 5. BLS certification with 30 days of hire.

Experience/Skills: Required:

• 1. Maintain all area specific CEUs for ARRT, DPH according to regulation.
