Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a CT Tech I to deliver high-quality CT exams under supervision, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and accurate image acquisition. You will work closely with Radiology staff to support timely diagnostics and patient care.

You will review images, maintain equipment, and participate in continuing education to meet regulatory standards and departmental goals. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school.
  • New graduates accepted.
  • NYS license (NYS Temporary Permit for new graduates), required
  • ARRT Registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire, required
  • NYS Registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire, required
  • ARRT CT certification within 2 years of hire/ within job role (career ladder promotion), preferred
  • BLS certification, required

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, efficient CT exams and high-quality results.
  • Position patients safely and explain procedures.
  • Review images and send to PACS; close exam in EPIC/PACS.
  • Transport patients to and from the room as needed.
  • Maintain inventory and restock supplies; ensure regulatory readiness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized CT room and participate in quality control.
  • Engage in continuing education and attend departmental meetings to stay current.

What you'll do

Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Medical Imaging and working at the direction of the Radiology Manager, the CT Tech I provides prompt, efficient, courteous services to patients while performing high-quality CT exams. This individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. They must also have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide the care needed. This position requires performing diagnostic x-rays as needed.

  • To provide high quality test results in a prompt and accurate fashion.
  • Complies with the job description of the Diagnostic X-ray Technologist II as necessary.
  • Ensures that patient information is acceptable (Order for Exam and Lab work).
  • Properly positions patient and makes patient comfortable.
  • Images the patient according to approved Cat Scan protocols 100% of the time.
  • Reviews images and sends to PACS for interpretation.
  • Closes exam in EPIC/PACS.
  • Prepares, identifies and/or administers medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner when applicable.
  • Transports patients to and from the room when required as noted by leadership.
  • Provide a safe environment to our patients.
  • Explains all procedures to patients and answers any questions or concerns regarding the test 100% of the time.
  • Properly screens the patient (reviews medical history).
  • Performs clinical pause before starting each exam. Ensures that the room is clean and ready for patients both before and after an exam 100% of the time.
  • Maintains adequate level of inventory in all rooms within diagnostic Radiology.
  • Restocks supplies within rooms as observed by leadership.
  • Cleans and organizes CT Scan room after patient use as observed by leadership.
  • Reviews and completes the daily checklists for safe patient care and regulatory readiness.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Maintains competence through continuing education 100% of the time as noted by leadership.
  • Maintains appropriate continuing education credits to keep up licensure 100% of the time as recorded by leadership.
  • Attends the necessary meetings to keep up with changes within the department.
  • Attends monthly department meetings 90-95% of the time as recorded in the meeting minutes.
  • Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed.
  • Performs other duties as requested and observed by leadership.

Pay Range

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

Pay Range Minimum

USD $40.58/Hr.

Pay Range Maximum

USD $60.87/Hr.
