Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans on patients: prepare patients, explain procedures, administer contrast when necessary.
  • Enter and monitor patient data.
  • Perform quality assurance on CT equipment.
  • Assist with applications for ACR accreditation.
  • Identify and report accidents or equipment malfunctions to management.

Memorial Hermann invites you to join TIRR Memorial Hermann, a nationally recognized leader in medical rehabilitation and research, to pursue exceptional patient care.

Job Summary

We seek a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a collaborative, high‑performing environment.

This position performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans to create cross‑sectional images of tissues and internal organs for physicians’ diagnosis and treatment. The senior technologist serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to staff, and assists management with supervisory responsibilities.

Schedule

Day/Evening (no overnight) with rotating call shifts. May be required to work weekends and float to other locations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered CT Technologist by ARRT‑CT or NMTCB(CT) in computed tomography.
  • Or Registered Radiology Technologist by ARRT‑R or ARRT‑N, or Certified by NMTCB.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience, preferred.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients with assistance.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Perform CT scans on patients: prepare patients, explain procedures, administer contrast when necessary, position patients, select appropriate imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of the scan.
  • Enter and monitor patient data.
  • Perform quality assurance on CT equipment.
  • Assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Take emergency call within the department.
  • May be required to work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures and standards, including budgetary specifications, time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promote professional growth by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skill competency; support department‑based goals; serve as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of the community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
  • Model Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
