Job summary

Wellstar Medical Group operates a mobile CT unit in Augusta, GA, delivering high-quality imaging and patient-centered care. Technologists provide safe CT procedures, maintain infection control, and work within a collaborative care team to support diagnostic excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and adjust techniques for diagnostic quality.
• Maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules.
• Verify orders and patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol.
• Position patients and apply markers and shielding as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and release patients accordingly.
• Document timely and accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology Required

Certifications

• ARRTR (Radiography)
• ARRTCT – ARRT Computed Tomography
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjustingtechniquestomaintaindiagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, andmaintainrooms/equipment per infection control schedules;identifyand report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, andpostcareclearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provideageappropriatecare throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization asindicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Completeaccuratetimelydocumentation and ensure studies are correctlyfinalizedin RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and helpmaintain/restock crash cart andlifesupportequipment asrequired
• Organize dailyworkflowsto meet expectedtimeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevateissues to the supervisor.
