Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate's degree or equivalent required).

• Current ARRT registration (R).
• Ohio Radiographer license issued by the Ohio Department of Health.
• BLS certification (must be obtained prior to or within 90 days of hire).
• ARRT CT certification required within 12 months of hire if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for CT procedures, ensuring comfort and optimal image quality.
• Operate CT scanners and related equipment following established protocols and safety standards.
• Administer oral and intravenous contrast agents as ordered, monitor for adverse reactions.
• Obtain and verify patient history to support accurate imaging and diagnosis.
• Monitor patients during procedures and provide reassurance as needed.
• Review images for quality and repeat scans if necessary to meet diagnostic requirements.
• Document procedures and patient information in the electronic health record.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions.
• Adhere to infection control, radiation safety and patient privacy standards.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance and continuing education to maintain competencies.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The CT Tech performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy while adhering to regulatory standards and established protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate's degree or equivalent required).

Required Work Experience

• Clinical experience gained through completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Additional 1-2 years of CT or diagnostic radiology experience preferred but not required.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations

• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [ARRT (R)].
• Valid Ohio Radiographer license issued by the Ohio Department of Health.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained prior to or within 90 days of hire).
• ARRT (CT) certification required within 12 months of hire if not already held.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and position patients for CT procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and optimal image quality.
• Operate CT scanners and related equipment according to established protocols and safety standards.
• Administer oral and intravenous contrast agents as ordered, monitoring for adverse reactions and responding appropriately.
• Obtain and verify patient clinical history and relevant information to support accurate imaging and diagnosis.
• Monitor patients during procedures, providing reassurance and responding to needs or complications.
• Review images for technical quality and completeness, repeating scans as necessary to meet diagnostic requirements.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of procedures, patient information, and contrast administration in the electronic health record.
• Perform routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and patient privacy standards in all aspects of work.
• Collaborate with radiologists, referring providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and clarify imaging needs.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and continuing education to maintain competencies and certifications.
• Assist in training or orienting new staff or students as requested.
