Location: 895 City Center Blvd, Suite 104, Newport News, Virginia, 23606

Position: Hourly labor pool (as needed), preferably averaging at least 4 shifts per month.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8.5 hours (can be variable) between 7:30am to 5:00pm; Saturday 7:30am to 4:00pm

Overview

The CT Technologist in Diagnostic Center is responsible for performing CT exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all CT exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and completes all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.

What You Will Do

• Assist radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures. Select proper protocol to obtain optimal images and provide clinical documentation per scope of practice.
• Perform with a high degree of safety and quality and prevent or reduce harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.
• Understand and adhere to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.
• Coordinate patient care and perform effective assessment, actions, and documentation. Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
• Detail oriented, able to multi-task, organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year CT experience (Preferred)
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT) Registry Upon Hire (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
• Other Requirements:
  • Weekend Shifts
  • Work/Float in more than one work location
