Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a CT Technologist to join the Radiology CT Scan Services team in Fort Worth. The role involves explaining procedures, performing CT imaging, and ensuring patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The CT Technologist will process images, transfer data to PACS, and maintain equipment while adhering to department protocols and safety standards. Strong ARRT/CMRT/BCLS credentials are required, with on-site work Friday–Sunday shifts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology (required) or an Associate Degree (preferred).
  • 1 year radiologic technologist experience without ARRT-CT (required) or no ARRT-CT experience (required).
  • ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certification (required) or ARRT-CT certification within 12 months if 1 year radiology tech exp.
  • CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist by TDH or TMB (required).
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required).

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patient or guardian prior to and during exam.
  • Image the correct anatomical area of interest and pathology per department protocols.
  • Perform complex procedures including age-related criteria and developmental considerations.
  • Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, adjust technique or repeat procedures as needed.
  • Send and transfer images to PACS.
  • Assess patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions.
  • Operate, care for and maintain equipment.
  • Prepare room for examination (suction, oxygen, supplies).
  • Administer contrast media and other medications per guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients.

Here’s What You Need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology (required) or
  • Associate Degree (preferred)
  • 1 year radiologic technologist experience without ARRT-CT (required) or
  • No experience with ARRT-CT (required)
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) (required) and
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) (required) or
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) (if 1 year radiology technician exp) within 12 Months (required) and
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB (required) and
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)
What You Will Do

A Texas Health CT Technologist is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful CT Technologist will

  • process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.
  • correctly send and transfer images to PACS.
  • assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions.
  • operate, care for and maintain equipment.
  • prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
  • administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
  • maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors).
