Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the CT Surgery teams at Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown. Day and night shift positions available; 2 years CT Surgery APP experience preferred.

Under physician supervision, you will evaluate and treat patients, document care, perform exams and procedures, and help develop care plans. Minimum qualifications include accredited NP/PA program, Georgia license, and relevant

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
• Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia or licensed as a Physician Assistant.
• ACNP/AGACNP certification for inpatient Emory roles (where applicable).
• May require at least one year of direct experience in high acuity clinical specialties.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certifications; ACLS may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

Description

Our Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown CT Surgery teams are growing and we are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. There are day and night shift positions available. 2 years of CT Surgery APP experience preferred. Responsibilities include:

• Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients.


• Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records. Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.


• Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.


• Assists physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.


• Orders, schedules and/or performs laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.


• Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).


• Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia.


• May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties.


• BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas.


• Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP) for inpatient roles within Emory Healthcare
