Job summary

The University of Miami Hospital imaging team is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist to verify patient identity, interview for discomfort, obtain consent, and perform imaging under a radiologist's direction. You will operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring safety and infection control standards within UTower Imaging Services.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in radiologic technology, ARRT registration, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Job description

Shift: Full-Time - (40 hrs. M-F) Days (depending on availability) (Occasional on-call and rotating weekends may be required) Work Location: University of Miami Hospital - UTower Imaging Services

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Verifies patients’ ID by checking their name and date of birth.

Conducts patient interviews to describe level of discomfort or pain prior to, during, and after the exam.

Obtains necessary consent from patients before conducting procedures.

Maintains and cleans all equipment in accordance with decontamination procedures.

Supervises and performs imaging procedures under the direction of a radiologist using age appropriate standards of practice.

Performs venipunctures, contrast administration, and other relevant procedures in a safe manner.

Notifies appropriate person of any change(s) in patients’ status.

Assists the radiologist throughout procedures, with all the necessary supplies.

Follows safety, security, and infection control standards.

Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure continuous improvement of services provided.

Prepares automatic injector with proper contrast, adjusting all settings and parameters according to procedure requirements and radiologist preference.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing: ARRT registration

Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
