Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a CT Scan Technologist to provide high‑quality CT imaging and patient care. You will position patients, select parameters, and apply ALARA principles while supporting physicians during CT procedures and reconstructions of images.

The role requires ARRT CT certification within one year, ARRT radiography credentials, CPR‑BLS, and IEMA licensure, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and ongoing training in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
• ARRT Certification.
• ARRT CT Certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately; uses ALARA principles.
• Implements radiation protection and safety standards.
• Prepares for and assists the physician in CT procedures, including interventional procedures; performs reconstruction of CT images.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice and regulations.

The salary range for this position is $52.00 - $52.00 (Hourly Rate).

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The CT Scan Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Provides computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients.

Responsibilities

• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Utilizes ALARA principles during examinations.
• Implements radiation protection and safety standards.
• Prepares for and assists the physician in computed tomography procedures, including interventional procedures. Performs reconstruction of CT images.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
• ARRT certification on Computed Tomography (CT) within one year of hire
• CPR-Basic Life Support
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) licensure
• Physical Demands Requirement:
  • Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds

Preferred

• One year of Radiology Technologist experience
