Job summary

The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician by the Radiologist accepted protocol. The technologist will also be proficient in the positioning of the patient and the examining table to obtain optimum views of the specified area of the body requested by physician.

Technologist will also practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle in mind, using beam restrictive devices,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• At least 1 year radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience.
• Registered with ARRT and state licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operates radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Positions patients and equipment to obtain optimal views.
• Administers and coordinates contrast administration (IV and oral) and documents procedures.
• Maintains radiation safety following ALARA principles and using shielding and beam-restriction devices.
• Performs quality control and ensures proper documentation in patient charts.
