Job summary

University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (UM CRMC) in Maryland is seeking a CT Technologist to join our radiology team for Saturday and Sunday night shifts, 7p–7a. The role emphasizes safe patient care, accurate imaging, and collaboration with care teams.

The ideal candidate will have CT experience, ARRT CT certification, and Maryland radiography licensure, with a commitment to quality and continuous learning in a supportive hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Certificate in radiologic technology from a USDE- or CHEA-accredited program.
• Completion of a CT program or higher education in health science is preferred.
• Maryland radiography licensure and ARRT registry requirements are expected.

Responsibilities

• Executes basic clinical competence in CT and selects appropriate technical factors per patient.
• Participates in the Clinical Ladder Program when implemented.
• Applies CT principles including anatomy, radiation safety and patient care.
• Documents accurate patient care activity in electronic health records.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and staff training.

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday night 12 hour shifts 7p-7a

Key Responsibilities

• Key Responsibility 1: Executes basic clinical competence in CT, in all locations, across all patient types. Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient. Observes concepts of Image Wisely/Image Gently for dose reduction. Administers contrast according to facility policy.
• Actively participates in the Clinical Ladder Program, if implemented, at the individual System hospital/location, meeting and maintaining all Program standards and requirements.
• Key Responsibility 2: Applies knowledge of CT principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, patient positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal, organizational and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
• Key Responsibility 3: Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
• Key Responsibility 4: Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy. Follows equipment quality control procedures with appropriate documentation.
• Key Responsibility 5: Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and education activities.

Education

• Associate degree, or Certificate, in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agent recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

• Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (R) and (CT)
• Licensed Radiographer - State of Maryland
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
