Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mentor Hospital is seeking an entry-level CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant. This role supports all aspects of the CT/MRI department operations, including room setup, contrast prep, data entry, and image handling, contributing to a patient-driven care experience.

The caregiver will work Monday–Friday, 12:30pm–9:00pm, joining a team committed to world-class care and continuous improvement in a state-of-the-art facility in Mentor, Ohio.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• 1 year healthcare experience OR current radiology student.
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms properly before beginning of procedure.
• Clean room promptly post-procedure.
• Assure patient modesty and comfort; assist with changing and respond to call lights.
• Discharge patient to appropriate destination.
• Verify patient identity and create identification bands.
• Schedule scans and monitor queue.
• Verify physician order and communicate patient needs; manage inpatient flow.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS; report malfunctions.
• Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.
• Operate equipment with care and professionalism.
• Maintain ethical relationships with customers and coworkers; accept feedback.
• Assess patient readiness and learning needs; deliver education and obtain feedback.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

One year of experience in a healthcare field or current radiology student

As a CT /MRI Scan Technologist Assistant, you are involved in all aspects of the CT/MRI department operations, including department stocking, oral contrast preparation, exam data entry and more. In this role, you will promote a patient-driven philosophy, exhibiting positive behavior that supports and enhances their care experience. This position is an excellent entry into the healthcare field at Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works Monday - Friday, 12:30pm - 9:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Assure room s are set up properly before beginning of procedure .
• C lean room s promptly post-procedure.
• Assure patient modesty and comfort, assist patients with changing, answer call lights as appropriate and report any change in patient's condition or behavior.
• Assure patient is discharged to appropriate destination .
• Check proper identification of patient per policy and create patient identification bands.
• Schedule scans and watch queue .
• Verify physician exam order, look at needs of patient and initiate communication and inpatient flow.
• Document patient history, condition s and any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes, additional exams, and order revision.
• Acquire , archive, transmit and print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after- hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork immediately reporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator.
• Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.
• Operate all equipment properly and with care.
• Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers, demonstrating cooperative efforts with coworkers and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
• Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
• Determine the best methodology to deliver education and receive verbal feedback or return demonstration to validate learning.
• Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge when appropriate .

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High s chool D iploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• One year of experience in a healthcare related field OR c urrent radiology student
• Broa d knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
