Job summary

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a CT Imaging Technologist to join our Imaging Department. The Technologist provides high-quality CT and related imaging services, ensuring patient safety and education throughout examinations.

Under supervision by the Imaging Manager and Medical Director, you will also cover X-ray, DXA, and fluoroscopic procedures as needed, participate in QA programs, and support front desk tasks and student supervision.

Qualifications

  • HS graduate or equivalent with accredited radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT registered radiologic technologist.
  • BLS required.
  • CT registration preferred.
  • Able to perform exams in assigned modalities with competency.

Responsibilities

  • Produces quality exams in X-Ray, CT, DXA, fluoroscopy and related procedures.
  • Navigates PACS and documents exams accurately.
  • Participates in departmental quality assurance and maintenance.
  • Maintains patient safety including identification, transfers, radiation safety and infection control.
  • Performs front desk or departmental duties when needed.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media.
  • Supervises radiologic tech students during clinicals.
  • Maintains CT competency.

Job description

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a CT Imaging Technologist to join our Imaging Department!

Under the supervision of the Imaging Manager and under the general direction of the Imaging Medical Director, performs quality and complete imaging procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. The Imaging Technologist works effectively with patients and patients' families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. The Technologist is responsible for providing patient education, quality patient care, and will meet all regulatory compliance. This is not a comprehensive job description, and other duties or responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Major Job Duties & Responsibilities

Produces quality exams within assigned modalities and assigned areas, including portable and C-Arm applications, X-Ray, DXA, CT, and fluoroscopic procedures. Applies principles of radiation protection, choice of protocol, knowledge of anatomy and pathology.

Maintains patient records and files, as appropriate. Properly navigates PACS. Provides accurate history, completed forms, and appropriate documentation of each exam performed.

Actively participates in departmental quality assurance program including preventative maintenance and other quality measures.

Practices patient safety including correct patient identification, safe transfers, radiation safety, standard precautions, infection control, fall prevention, and other patient safety measures.

Follows appropriate rules of punctuality, shift rotation, and modality coverage.

Performs other duties as requested by Manager.

Follows departmental policies and procedures.

Prepares and administers contrast media through IV or other routes.

Provides instruction and supervision to radiologic technologist students who are fulfilling their clinical requirements at CPMC.

Provides administrative duties, as needed, in connection with the front desk responsibilities of the department – alongside or in the absence of the receptionist.

Maintains competency in C.T.

Pursues continuing education.

In absence of Manager, the Technologist is able to assume responsibilities of the department.

Able to work well in situations of stress.

Practices professional interpersonal communication.

Must be willing and able to take call.

Must be willing to learn other imaging modalities as Manager and Medical Director see fit.

Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Based on the needs of the department.

7 on 7 off night position. Rotation starts on Wednesday and goes through Tuesday night.

Educational Requirements

Technologist must be a HS graduate or equivalent and have completed an accredited program in radiologic technology.

Technologist must be registered as a radiologic technologist through ARRT.

BLS required.

Registered in CT preferred.

Experience

Able to show competency in performing all exams required in assigned modality(ies).
