Job summary

Foundation Academies in Trenton, New Jersey, seeks a CST School Social Worker to support scholars through the special education process. You will handle CST case management, social work evaluation, IEP development and implementation, and counseling to students and families.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Valid New Jersey School Social Worker certificate or documented eligibility.
• New Jersey social work license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct social assessments and social histories for special education evaluations and reevaluations.
• Serve as case manager for assigned scholars and develop compliant IEPs.
• Monitor IEP services, progress, placements, and compliance timelines.
• Provide individual and/or group counseling services to assigned scholars.
• Build partnerships with scholars, families, educators, and service providers.
• Support eligibility decisions and multidisciplinary CST meetings.
• Maintain documentation and student records in Frontline.
• Identify and elevate compliance, service, placement, and safety concerns.
• Connect families with school and community resources.
• Use scholar data to monitor progress and strengthen services.

What will you be doing?

What do we require from you?

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Valid New Jersey School Social Worker certificate or documented eligibility.
• New Jersey social work license preferred.
• Experience with school-based CST, special education, clinical, or child and family services strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of IDEA, New Jersey special education regulations, IEPs, LRE, FERPA, and procedural safeguards.
• Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and case management skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 20–25 scholars.
• Proficiency with Frontline and other special education recordkeeping systems.
