Job summary

Seven Counties is seeking a part-time physician to provide on-call psychiatric and medical care to Central State Hospital patients. Responsibilities include admissions, exams, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up, with rapid emergency response as needed.

The role requires Kentucky medical licensure, a valid DEA license, and two years of psychiatry residency, plus a Doctoral degree and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Medical School and hold a valid Kentucky Medical License and active DEA license.
• Must have experience in adult psychiatry and must have completed a minimum of two years in an approved psychiatric residency program.
• Level of Education: Doctoral Degree.
• Must have and maintain valid and active driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call comprehensive psychiatric and medical care to the patients of Central State Hospital, including taking referrals from outside hospitals, admission of patients, physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for medical conditions; attend to emergencies.
• Conduct rounds on patients admitted on weekends.
• Conduct follow-up rounds with patients on one-to-one assignments who could possibly harm themselves.
• Attend and participate in medical, clinical and administrative meetings; participate in hospital performance improvement initiatives.
• Complete all annually required training within established timeframes; other related duties as assigned.

Provides on-call comprehensive Psychiatric and Medical care to the patients of Central State Hospital including taking referrals from outside hospitals, admission of patients, physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care for patients of medical conditions, as well as attending to any emergency need throughout the entire hospital while on-call. Performs all tasks and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner; other related duties as assigned.

Conduct rounds on patients admitted on weekends.

Conduct follow-up rounds with patients that are on a one-on-one assignment and could possibly cause self-harm.

Attends and participates in medical, clinical and administrative meetings, as assigned; Participates in hospital performance improvement initiatives.

Completes all annually required training according to established timeframes; other related duties as assigned.

Required:
