Job summary

Merakey is hiring a School Based Behavior Health Technician to deliver 1:1 direct services in family homes, schools, and community settings, applying evidence-based behavior modification techniques with children and families. Responsibilities include implementing intervention plans, maintaining progress notes, reporting to therapists, and coordinating with families and schools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 direct services in family homes, schools, and community settings.
• Implement behavior modification intervention plans developed with family, school, and therapist.
• Intervene when the child exhibits problem behaviors and document progress.
• Maintain records and report to therapist daily.
• Provide family treatment services, including skills training and education.
• Maintain communication with families, schools, physicians, and other providers.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to meet caseloads.

Job description

School Based Behavior Health Technician responsible for delivering 1:1 direct services in family homes, schools, and community settings, working with children and families to apply evidence‑based behavior modification techniques.

Requirements

• Must possess a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
• Training and experience with family systems and working with children and their families in a clinical setting.
• Must hold a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Position located at Mount Union Area School District in Huntingdon County, PA.

Preferred

• Two years’ experience in mental/behavioral health.

Salary

$17.48 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Implements behavior modification intervention plan developed by the family, school, and therapist.
• Intervenes as needed when the child exhibits problem behaviors.
• Interventions may include removing the child from the area, talking with the child about behaviors, accessing parent support, and implementing plan procedures indicated for the child, using appropriate intervention techniques.
• Maintains records noting progress and problem areas.
• Reports to therapist on a daily basis.
• Attends training as required.
• Provides treatment services to families, including skills training and education designed to enable families to become actively involved in treatment.
• Maintains regular communication with families, schools, physicians, and other service providers involved with the children and families.
• Works flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of children's and families’ caseloads.
