Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an On-Site CSA Engineer for a project near Baton Rouge, LA. You will act as the on-site representative for civil, structural, and architectural disciplines during construction, coordinating Owner, Contractor and design teams to resolve issues and ensure work aligns with contract documents.

You will conduct site walks, review drawings, support RFIs/submittals, and provide weekly observation reports while coordinating BIM and QA/QC activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 10+ years in large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction; or 5+ years supporting hyperscale data centers.
• Strong CSA systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in an active construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for CSA design and construction.
• Perform daily site walks to monitor progress, quality, and constructability.
• Coordinate design issues between field teams and consultants.
• Evaluate field conditions and provide timely design clarifications.
• Support responses to RFIs, submittals, and field inquiries.
• Review installation activities for conformance with design and specs.
• Identify deficiencies, deviations, and quality concerns.
• Participate in punch walks, inspections and turnover.
• Provide weekly site observation reports with risks and recommendations.
• Support BIM coordination and site validation activities.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, commissioning, and Owner reps to resolve issues.
• Identify project risks and assist with mitigation planning.
• Establish clear communication and escalation processes among stakeholders.

JACOBS has an immediate opportunity for an On-Site CSA Engineer at our project near Baton Rouge, LA.

The CSA On-Site Engineer serves as the Professional's on-site representative for civil, structural, and architectural disciplines throughout the construction phase of the project. This individual will facilitate communication between the Owner, Contractor, and design teams while supporting construction activities, reviewing field conditions, resolving design issues, and ensuring the Work aligns with the Contract Documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for CSA-related design and construction matters.
• Perform daily site walks to monitor progress, quality, compliance, and constructability.
• Coordinate civil, structural, and architectural design issues between field teams and design consultants.
• Evaluate field conditions and facilitate timely design clarifications and revisions.
• Support responses to RFIs, submittals, substitution requests, and field inquiries.
• Review installation activities for conformance with design intent and project specifications.
• Identify and communicate observed deficiencies, deviations, and quality concerns.
• Participate in punch walks, inspections, testing activities, and project turnover efforts.
• Provide weekly site observation reports documenting progress, risks, issues, and recommendations.
• Support BIM coordination efforts, mockups, and site validation activities.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, commissioning, and Owner representatives to resolve construction issues.
• Proactively identify project risks and support mitigation planning.
• Establish clear communication and escalation processes among project stakeholders.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects; or 5+ years supporting hyperscale data centers.
• Strong understanding of CSA systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in an active construction environment.

Salary

The base salary range for this position is $95,200.00 to $130,900.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
