Job summary

CloudHQ is seeking a CSA Design Manager to ensure CSA design execution on data center projects. This on-site role requires coordinating with construction teams, leading CSA design workshops, and ensuring field installations align with design intent and safety requirements.

The candidate will review submittals, guide design progression, and serve as the CSA design expert across development, construction, safety, operations, and commissioning teams, with strong leadership and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Eng, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of CSA Design experience on large-scale industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects.
• Strong CSA system knowledge incl. building envelope, site improvements, drainage, structural framing & foundations, construction detailing, roofing, waterproofing, lighting, millwork, door/frame/hardware, and finishes.
• Experience commissioning and handover of CSA systems in a data center environment.
• Experience reviewing design documents and ensuring field compliance with specifications.
• Proficiency with construction project management software (BIM360, CxAlloy, Procore, Helix).
• Leadership experience managing a team of architects and engineers across multiple projects with delivery timelines.
• Ability to analyze and resolve construction issues efficiently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as CloudHQ’s on-site representative for CSA Design, coordinating with construction to meet quality, scope, schedule, safety, and cost targets.
• Attend and guide regular design meetings to monitor CSA design progression.
• Lead design workshops for CSA guidelines across multiple projects and regions.
• Review technical submittals and RFIs, provide field-level technical guidance, and resolve issues.
• Review external consultant field observation reports and drive non-compliance resolution with site teams.
• Represent CloudHQ as a CSA design expert at Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings.
• Ensure CSA installations meet design standards, safety policies, and operational requirements, engaging internal SMEs as needed.
• Provide technical input for commissioning and support CSA system testing, startup, and turnover processes.
• Conduct root-cause analyses of field issues, document lessons learned, and communicate findings to Construction and Development teams.
• Advise on construction progress reports and serve as liaison between the design team and construction.

Role Overview

The CSA Design Manager will be a critical member of CloudHQ’s design team, ensuring the successful execution of CSA design and standards on CloudHQ data center projects. The site‑based role involves monitoring design progress, resolving design issues, participating in design meetings, coordinating with the CSA program lead and the CloudHQ design team, and ensuring field installations align with design intent, operational goals, and safety requirements. The manager will serve as the subject‑matter expert for CSA design execution across development, construction, safety, operations and commissioning teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Seven (7) years of experience in CSA Design with preferred managerial experience, focusing on large‑scale industrial, mission‑critical, or data center projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of CSA systems, including building envelope, site improvements, drainage, structural framing & foundations, construction detailing, roofing, waterproofing, lighting, millwork, door/frame/hardware, and finishes.
• Experience in commissioning and handover of CSA systems in a data center environment.
• Experience reviewing design documents and ensuring field compliance with specifications.
• Proficiency with construction project management software (BIM360, CxAlloy, Procore, Helix, etc.).
• Leadership experience managing a team of architects and engineers across multiple projects with delivery timelines.
• Ability to analyze and resolve construction issues efficiently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
• 100% on site; potential travel to other CloudHQ construction sites in the region.
