Collegium Charter School in Exton, PA seeks a full-time Teacher, Computer Science for grades 5-8 to plan, deliver and assess engaging CS instruction that builds coding skills and confidence in students. You will design lessons on topics from coding and animation to web design, manage classroom routines, monitor progress, and collaborate with the Principal and families to support student growth.

Candidates must have PA Technology Education K-12 certification, preferably Computer Science K-12,

Qualifications

• A four-year college degree is required.
• PA Technology Education K-12 Certification is required; CS K-12 certification is a plus.
• If certification is from another state, PA certification must be obtained within a designated time frame.
• Demonstrated competence as a classroom teacher.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and differentiated instruction.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation for professional growth.
• Knowledge of basic computer operations for Windows and macOS.
• Experience with learning management systems, Schoology preferred.
• Experience with JavaScript and/or Python preferred.
• Experience with IDEs and debugging.
• Experience with object-oriented programming preferred.
• Required clearances (Act 34, Act 151, Act 114) dated within the last year.
• Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School.

Responsabilités

• Develops CS curriculum aligned with CCS goals and objectives.
• Promotes a safe, inclusive classroom conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for CS topics.
• Assesses student learning and adapts instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Engages parents and communicates progress effectively.
• Maintains records of student activities, achievement and attendance.
• Enforces school codes and policies related to CS and technology usage.
• Promotes citizenship and professional conduct.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by leadership.
• Complies with CCS policies and PA Public School expectations.
